The first show of Rock in Rio 2026 at the new Palco Mundo, entirely made up of LED, demonstrated how the event's large screen will work. The group Nova Twins, which opened the stage, used a more traditional format, just with the screens, but it was possible to notice the greater image definition provided by LED technology. The screen size also made it easier to view for those watching from far away.
The Palco Mundo space is 104 meters long and 31.05 meters high, and will feature approximately 2,400m² of LED screen area. The trend follows the pattern of international festivals, like Coachella, and world tours by artists like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.
The expectation is that the audience experience will be totally immersive, as each artist will be able to set up the screen however they prefer. Roberta Medina, vice president of Rock World, the company that manages the event, says some names are expected to use this new format.
