Six fishermen who had been missing since August 27 were found alive by a Brazilian Air Force (FAB) aircraft on Thursday (3), during a search mission carried out hundreds of kilometers off the Brazilian coast.
The men left on the vessel S.E. Pescados to fish at Itarema Beach, on the coast of Ceará, on August 17, and maintained contact with the boat's operation until the 27th. After that date, the lack of communication mobilized the search and rescue resources of the Navy and FAB.
According to FAB, the boat was found by the SC-105 Amazonas aircraft, which used advanced communication systems, search sensors, and radar to locate and identify the vessel.
The last registered position of the vessel was approximately 480km north of Fortaleza (CE) and 500km from the Brazilian coast.
