Now4 September 2026 at 19:29

The United Nations launched an emergency appeal worth 42.6 million euros to address the floods that affected Nepal. The objective is to raise funds from the international community to help the populations affected by the natural catastrophe.

The emergency mechanism activated by the UN serves to obtain and coordinate financial resources quickly in crisis situations. This instrument is commonly used to respond to natural disasters, armed conflicts, or other urgent humanitarian emergencies.

The floods in Nepal caused significant damage in the affected areas, requiring a coordinated humanitarian response. The UN's appeal aims to ensure that the necessary funds reach organizations on the ground to support relief and recovery operations.
