Taylor Swift Law: events in Brazil with more than a thousand people will have free water

SIC Notícias4 September 2026 at 18:32

From now on, events held in Brazil with more than a thousand people will be required to provide potable water free of charge to participants. The measure was nicknamed the "Taylor Swift Law," in reference to the American singer.

The new requirement emerged in response to problems faced at large musical events in the country. The law aims to ensure adequate hydration for spectators during shows and large-scale cultural events.

The obligation covers any event that brings together a thousand or more people, regardless of the type of activity. Organizers must guarantee easy and free access to potable water throughout the duration of the event.

The implementation of this law represents a significant change in the rules for organizing events in Brazil, seeking to protect the health and well-being of the public at large-scale gatherings.
