The headquarters of the Security Service in central Kyiv was attacked on Friday afternoon by a drone. President Volodymyr Zelensky declared that the device was directed straight at the director's office of the service, in an attack that wounded at least nine people.
The Ukrainian government considered this attack a clear rejection of diplomacy, at a time when negotiation efforts for a possible ceasefire are underway. Kyiv called on Western allies to increase pressure on Moscow.
The article also raises the question of whether the absence of Trump's envoys from Ukraine would mean they were intimidated, suggesting a possible connection between the attack and the context of ongoing negotiations.
