Air regulator imposes new service quality indicators at airports

Açoriano Oriental4 September 2026 at 18:14

The National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) carried out a review of the service quality assessment indicators at the main airports managed by ANA. This update comes within the scope of a re-evaluation of the metrics used to measure the performance of airport services.

The new indicators now implemented cover two fundamental areas. The first concerns baggage delivery, a critical aspect of passenger experience in the terminals. The second area focused on by ANAC relates to the mediation of security screening times, that is, the time passengers spend at security checkpoints.

This measure by ANAC aims to improve the quality of service provided to passengers and establish more rigorous operating standards at national airports under ANA management. The review of indicators represents an effort by the regulator to ensure greater transparency and efficiency at the country's main airports.

The Mediterranean railway corridor continues without a defined date for commissioning, with Adif explaining the reasons for the delays. The start of the school year is directly affecting the number of passengers on Cercanías services between Castelló and València on line C6. Renfe announced that during this month, up to seven additional services will be gradually implemented, even using second-hand trains from the Civia 465 model, coming from Cercanías services in Madrid, which in some cases are already more than two decades old, which has generated controversy.
