The Mediterranean corridor continues to be described as an "unending work" with no defined date for commissioning. Adif explains the causes of this situation, which has been dragging on for several years.
The start of the school year has a direct impact on the number of passengers on the Cercanías train service on line C6, which connects Castelló to València. This seasonal increase in demand led Renfe to announce the progressive addition of up to seven additional services throughout this month.
To implement this reinforcement, the railway company decided to incorporate second-hand trains, of the Civia 465 model, from the Cercanías hub in Madrid. This decision generated some controversy, since some of these units already exceed two decades of service.
