A couple discovered and shared on social media restaurant Vela 2, in Tavira, in the Algarve, which offers grilled fish "unlimited" for €14. The space operates as an all-you-can-eat grilled fish service, where sea bass, gilthead bream, sardines, cuttlefish, mackerel and small cuttlefish are served at the table successively until the customer decides to stop. The meal includes boiled potatoes, but appetizers, salads, drinks and desserts are charged separately.
The experience was posted on the Instagram account @dofadoaosamba, which warned about the restaurant's popularity and recommended arriving early. According to the post, "there's usually already a queue by noon," and the wait can be long, especially during summer.
Beyond the gastronomic offering, Vela 2 stands out for its decoration dedicated to Benfica, with eagles, photographs, scarves, jerseys and a counter built in the shape of the Estádio da Luz. The atmosphere ends up integrating into the identity of the space.
The operation is simple: customers wait for a table, sit down and start receiving the grilled dishes as available that day. There is no conventional menu to choose from, as the selection is determined by the catch of the day.
