Water reserves in mainland Portugal's dams decreased during the month of August, ending the month at 77% of the total monitored capacity, corresponding to a stored volume of 10,241 hm³ against a total capacity of 13,238 hm³.
Despite the decrease observed, the situation remains favorable in most river basins, with only two recording levels below their respective historical monthly averages for August.
Reserve levels vary significantly between basins, with particularly high values in Mira, Guadiana and Barlavento, while Lima and Mondego showed lower values.
