Two sailors from the American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln were sent back to the ship after getting into a drunken brawl during a port call in Thailand. The information was confirmed by local police on Friday.
Security forces were dispatched on Thursday morning after being informed about a small brawl involving the military personnel near Walking Street, an area known as the center of Pattaya's nightlife.
Colonel Anek Srathongyoo, the city's police chief, stated that the sailors were drunk and fighting, causing a lot of noise. He classified the incident as insignificant and explained that residents called the police only to prevent the situation from escalating.
The identities of the military personnel were not disclosed. After being attended to by Thai police, the sailors were returned to the aircraft carrier.
