São Paulo Book Fair: Conceição Evaristo and Raphael Montes among the highlights of Day 1

The 28th edition of the São Paulo Book Fair began this Friday (4) and runs until September 13 at the Anhembi District. The first day of programming featured the presence of names such as Christian Dunker, Conceição Evaristo, Michel Alcoforado, Rita Von Hunty, Juvi Chagas, and Raphael Montes. Considered the largest in the event's history, the fair occupies 86,000 square meters and brings together 269 exhibitors.

The organizers expect more than 700,000 visitors over the ten days of the event. In total, approximately 350 Brazilian and foreign authors participate in the programming, which offers about 3,500 hours of activities, including debates, literary meetings, workshops, presentations, and children's activities.

During the opening of the fair, the president of the Brazilian Book Chamber (CBL), Sevani Matos, said that having a National Book and Reading Plan again is a "victory". She highlighted that books and reading are at the "core of a country project", reinforcing the importance of literature for national development.
