The Spanish National Police carried out a joint operation in several locations across the national territory that resulted in the detention of five people, two women and three men, suspected of belonging to a criminal group dedicated to large-scale drug trafficking. The detentions took place in the province of Valencia, where eight searches were also carried out in residences.
During the operation, the authorities seized 149 kilograms of hashish, 63,000 euros in cash and several vehicles with specially prepared hidden compartments for the transport of illicit substances. The operation took place in a coordinated manner at different points across the country.
The detained are accused of a crime against public health and of belonging to a criminal organization, charges that result from their alleged large-scale drug trafficking activity. The investigated route had its origin in Gibraltar and its destination in the city of Valencia.
