Sale of TAP. Government begins final negotiations with the two candidates

The Portuguese government will begin final negotiations with the two candidates that submitted binding offers for the purchase of 44.9% of TAP. The two competitors are Air France-KLM and Lufthansa.

The announcement was made by the Minister of the Presidency, Leitão Amaro, who confirmed the advancement to the final phase of the sale process.

This stage represents an important milestone in the partial privatization process of the Portuguese airline, which had already progressed with the submission of binding offers by the two European airline groups.

The government thus intends to conclude the sale of a significant stake in TAP, maintaining a strategic position in the company while opening space for new investors in the aviation sector.
