A 22-year-old woman was rescued from a domestic captivity scenario in the municipality of Gongogi, in the interior of Bahia, after managing to send a note asking for help to her son's teacher. Held captive in her own home, the young woman wrote a handwritten message and managed to send it to the educator through her son.
According to the Civil Police, the victim had been suffering domestic violence committed by her husband for eight years. In the note, the woman wrote: "I am writing to ask for help once more because I can't take it anymore. Almost every day there is a death threat. You asked me to wait for help, but that help never arrived."
Upon receiving the note through the victim's son, the teacher alerted the authorities. The young woman's husband, 27 years old, was arrested on the spot on Wednesday (2) in the district of Nova Palma. The case involved a police operation to free the woman from the captivity conditions in which she was living.
