The new Hospital Lusíadas Beloura opened on September 1st in the municipality of Sintra, representing a 40 million euro investment. The facility aims to strengthen the supply of healthcare in the western area of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, covering mainly the municipalities of Sintra, Cascais, and Oeiras. The hospital occupies an area of approximately 9,500 square meters distributed over four floors and plans to integrate approximately 500 professionals.
The facility was designed to meet the needs of an estimated population of approximately one million people. It has 41 outpatient consultation offices, three dental medicine chairs, two operating room suites, one ambulatory surgery room, 18 examination rooms, and 27 inpatient beds. It also includes an area for walk-in medical care without prior appointment.
Management estimates that the hospital can perform over 100,000 consultations and 4,000 surgeries annually. Among the available specialties are cardiology, general surgery, gastroenterology, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics, internal medicine, general and family medicine, otolaryngology, orthopedics, and dermatology, among others. The hospital follows the principles of 3.0 Medicine, focusing on technology, disease prevention, and promotion of longevity, through the Lusíadas Integrated Health Center and a consultation dedicated to prevention and longevity.
Vasco Antunes Pereira, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the Lusíadas Saúde Group, stated that the hospital "adds healthcare capacity in one of the most populous regions of the country" and fulfills the way they intend to continue growing, creating responses that combine clinical differentiation, innovation, prevention, and continuity of care. The complex also includes a unit of the HeyDoc dental medicine network and home care support services through HUG Lusíadas Home Care, operating in coordination with the group's other units in Greater Lisbon.
