Government calls Lufthansa and Air France-KLM to improve TAP purchase proposals

The Portuguese Government called Lufthansa and Air France-KLM to submit improved purchase offers for TAP. This decision comes after an initial phase of evaluating the bids for the privatization of the Portuguese airline carrier.

The Minister of the Presidency indicated that this new negotiation phase may take "a few weeks" before reaching the "very final" negotiation with one of the two remaining candidates.

The two competing airlines are German Lufthansa and the Franco-Dutch consortium Air France-KLM, which remain in the race for the acquisition of TAP after a selection process that involved multiple bids.
