A 39-year-old woman named Samantha Adams was arrested in Florida on suspicion of doping a 69-year-old man during a date arranged through a dating app. Adams used the pseudonym Nala on the app and met the victim at a date that took place at an apartment in the city of Haines City.
According to the victim's account, during the visit to the apartment, Adams prepared two glasses of whiskey in the kitchen and brought the drinks back to the room where both were. After drinking one of the glasses, the man later fell ill and needed to be hospitalized.
At the hospital, the man received treatment for a benzodiazepine overdose, a substance he had not consciously consumed, indicating it was added to his drink without his knowledge. Local authorities are investigating whether the man was deliberately drugged.
Adams was detained at the end of August at a shopping center in the city of Davenport. In addition to the reported case, she is under investigation by police for other possible similar incidents involving the alleged doping of other victims.
