Waste accumulation leads EMARP to intervene at Monte Canelas

Barlavento4 September 2026 at 14:36

EMARP, the municipal company responsible for waste management, carried out an intervention at Monte Canelas after excessive concentration of waste was identified at ecological island number 210. The situation led the company to take measures to solve the accumulation problem verified at the location.

As part of the intervention, EMARP proceeded with the installation of new signage in the affected area. This measure aims to inform and raise awareness among users about the correct use of the ecological island, contributing to better organization of deposited waste.

At the same time, the municipal company established direct contact with residents of the Monte Canelas area. This communication aimed to raise awareness about correct waste disposal practices and the importance of adequately using the available collection services.

EMARP's intervention comes following recurrent problems of waste accumulation at that ecological island, with these actions intending to improve the conditions of the space and ensure more efficient waste management in the area.
