Nepal rescued two survivors from a tunnel nine days after a devastating avalanche that left over 1,300 dead. Rescuers faced enormous challenges to reach the survivors.

One of the main obstacles was finding the tunnel entrance, which was completely buried under snow and debris from the avalanche. The tunnel entrance had disappeared under meters of material.

Additionally, rescuers had to destroy car-sized rocks to open a passage and reach the victims. This task required heavy equipment and a lot of manual labor.

The rescue represents a remarkable feat considering the extreme conditions and the time elapsed since the natural disaster.
