They found a snake in the bread aisle of a supermarket. The animal was rescued and taken in by an organization dedicated to environmental education.

This organization has already taken in 21 snakes since the beginning of the year. Among them was a small corn snake.

The corn snake is a common species in captivity and frequently appears in similar situations, such as in homes or commercial establishments.

Witnesses believe the creature could be a gray fox or a fisher cat, but police have not yet managed to capture it to identify the species. The main suspicion of authorities is that the animal is contaminated with the rabies virus, and the population has been advised to remain alert to their surroundings.
