Fake lawyer tried for 141 crimes of usurpation of functions

Luís Rufo is being tried for 141 crimes of usurpation of functions. The defendant practiced as a lawyer for almost three decades, between 1993 and July 2022, with an office in Braga.

The Public Prosecutor's Office found that Luís Rufo was never qualified to practice law, since he never completed a law degree. Nevertheless, he represented clients and carried out activities typical of the profession throughout that entire period.

The trial is taking place at the Braga Judicial Court, where the defendant faces the charges relating to the crimes of usurpation of functions, which continued for almost 30 years.
