Volkswagen's management approved the dismissal of more than 50 thousand workers, in one of the largest restructurings in the 90-year history of the German brand. In total, dismissals of 100 thousand workers are expected by 2030, after the previous announcement of 50 thousand jobs.
The German group includes the brands Audi, Porsche, Skoda, Seat, Cupra and Volkswagen itself. The restructuring thus affects the entire automotive conglomerate.
The closure of four group factories in Germany is also on the table, which represents a drastic measure for the company.
