Centro de Artes de Águeda closes 2026 with culture, creativity and great shows

The Centro de Artes de Águeda unveiled a diverse cultural programme for the final four months of 2026, spanning performing arts, music, cinema, visual arts, circus and community participation. The Vice-President of Águeda City Council, Edson Santos, responsible for the Culture portfolio, highlighted that the municipal strategy is based on valuing national and international creation and creativity, as well as the local talent of the municipality.

In September, the highlights include the exhibition "Hybrid Colonies" by Elena Redaelli, the stand-up comedy show by Bruna Louise, and the performance by Ballet Flamenco de Barcelona with "Carmen". October is marked by the 25th edition of Festival O Gesto Orelhudo, which brings together different artistic languages from 7 to 10 October, complemented by the exhibition "Desenhar do Escuro" by António Jorge Gonçalves.

November brings the opera "The Barber of Seville", stand-up comedy with António Tabet, theatrical performances and the exhibition "MICROMOON – Águeda Moon Gallery", which explores the relationship between art, creativity and space exploration. The month ends with "The Nutcracker" by Imperial Heritage Ballet.

December features the 3rd edition of CircusFest, the "Aurora" project by Cem Palcos, which involves non-professional performers and texts by children and young people from different countries, and the concert by Banda Alvarense & Noble. The programme also includes cinema, with highlights such as the Cinema Cycle – Portuguese Cinema, and audience development and cultural mediation initiatives aimed at schools and the wider community.
