Seven people were trapped at approximately 30 meters height after a technical failure paralyzed a ride at an amusement park in Almería, in southern Spain, on Friday night (28). The group spent approximately four hours suspended until being removed by firefighters during the 2026 Almería Fair.
The problem occurred shortly after 11 PM, when the "Gigant," a giant pendulum that can reach 50 meters height, stopped unexpectedly with the passengers on the structure. Local police isolated the area, while emergency teams began rescue attempts.
The operation was considered delicate because the gondola where the passengers were could spin, and the removal of each person altered the weight distribution of the attraction. Therefore, the firefighters of Almería had to carry out the rescue gradually to ensure the safety of everyone.
