A man is being tried in Braga for 141 crimes of usurpation of lawyer functions. The defendant is accused of having practiced law illegally.
The Public Prosecutor's Office claims that the defendant forged two certificates to prove he had completed six subjects of the Law course at the University of Coimbra. Of the six falsified subjects, five belonged to the first year of the course and one to the second year.
Based on these false certificates, the man managed to obtain registration with the Bar Association, which allowed him to legally practice the profession for some time. The trial is taking place at the Judicial Court of Braga.
