Benfica winger causes huge headaches and could still leave for Greece

Winger Bruma, a Portuguese international for Benfica, could leave the club and head to Greece. The player was left out of Marco Silva's squad for the Europa League, which highlights his delicate position within the team, and Aris Thessaloniki emerges as one of the clubs interested in signing him. The Greek transfer market remains open until September 15, giving Benfica's SAD some time to find a solution.

Benfica's priority is clear: sell Bruma. The winger was signed from Braga for 6.5 million euros during the winter transfer window of the 2024/25 season, but never managed to establish himself consistently at the club. The club still believes it can complete a transfer before the market closes.

Bruma's time at Benfica was strongly affected by physical problems. At the start of last season, the Portuguese international suffered a complete rupture of his left Achilles tendon during the Eusébio Cup, in a match against Fenerbahçe. This serious injury marked the beginning of a long recovery period, which was later compounded by additional physical problems that further limited his chances of establishing himself in the team.
