Two elderly women were killed and mutilated by bear attacks in the Krasnoyarsk region, in Siberia, Russia. Galina Teterina, 73 years old, and Zoya G., 67 years old, had gone to pick mushrooms in the forest when they were attacked a few hours apart. The bodies were found by emergency services in graves separated by only about 4.8 meters.
According to reports from local residents, the same animal may have killed and buried Zoya before Galina arrived in the area. A resident explained that the predator was probably nearby and, when Galina accidentally approached the place where Zoya had been buried, it attacked her as well. The resident believes that Galina may have seen Zoya's body or belongings in the forest, which provoked the second attack.
