The number of dead after a ferry sank off the northern coast of Cyprus has increased to 12, according to confirmed reports on Friday by Turkish-Cypriot Prime Minister Unal Ustel. The accident occurred last week when the ferry went down.
Search operations for 16 other missing people remain active, according to local authorities. Rescue teams continue working to find possible survivors in the waters where the sinking occurred.
