Nine days after the floods that devastated Nepal, two workers were rescued alive from the waters. The rescue occurred at a time when many no longer expected to find survivors.
The rescue teams used helicopters and heavy machinery to reach the survivors. These tools were essential to overcome the obstacles created by the rubble and the water still present in the affected area.
The floods of August 26 caused a catastrophe of great proportions in the country. The number of dead exceeds 1,280 people, confirming the gravity of the humanitarian situation in Nepal.
