The mansion advertised for R$ 220 million and pointed out as the most expensive in Brazil began to be demolished in Jardim Pernambuco, a neighborhood in Leblon, Rio de Janeiro. The house, which was in negotiations for six years between its owners and developer Mozak, will give way to Estância Pernambuco, a closed condominium with only ten high-standard houses. The project includes lots from 900m² to 1,800m², a size considered rare in the region, where land usually has about 500m² and much of it is on sloping areas.
Among the attractions of the mansion were the view of the sea, Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, and Christ the Redeemer. Even before the demolition advanced, the new project already has seven units sold, with values between R$ 24 million and R$ 42 million. Now, only three houses remain available for sale.
The condominium will predominantly have flat spaces, a feature valued in the region, and is located in the most privileged area of Leblon. The transformation of the land from a single mansion into ten high-standard houses represents a significant change in the real estate profile of Jardim Pernambuco.
