The president of the Bar Association, João Massano, warned during a conference in Lisbon about concerning signs of regression of women's rights. The event, promoted by the Human Rights Commission of the Bar Association, addressed the topic "Gender Equality and the Istanbul Convention" and featured Massano's participation remotely.

João Massano referred to "the conservatism that currently exists in society" which has caused women's rights to regress, mentioning as an example the manosphere, a phenomenon of misogynistic behaviors shared through social networks. The president considered this to be a phenomenon that should concern us more and more.

The main challenge identified by João Massano is to help young people understand that there are behaviors that are not acceptable, such as controlling the boyfriend's or girlfriend's cell phone, or that any person has the freedom to dress however they want. Massano argued that it is necessary to have the courage to confront these phenomena that have been gaining many followers.

The president emphasized that what is at stake is no longer just defending progress in gender equality, but rather preventing the regression of rights that were conquered.

Aldama requests to sell himself his seized cars because he believes Justice will not auction them at a good price

Businessman Víctor de Aldama, accused in the 'hydrocarbons case', requested the judge to be himself who sells the vehicles that were seized from him, arguing that he can obtain a higher price than if the assets were auctioned by the Office for Recovery and Asset Management (ORGA), dependent on the Ministry of Justice. Aldama believes that the direct sale would allow him to obtain more funds to cover any judicial responsibilities arising from the process.

'There's no one right in this story': analysts point to unprecedented and deeply rooted crisis at the STF

Political analysts point to an unprecedented crisis at the Supreme Federal Court (STF), involving ministers Alexandre de Moraes and André Mendonça. The situation was aggravated after Minister André Mendonça ordered the archiving of a request for investigation against the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta, related to the "messages from [something]" case, which provoked internal divergences at the court. Political scientists consulted by the publication assess that, in the eyes of society, the STF appears to be "imploding," with a deeply rooted and profound crisis that affects the institution's credibility. The controversy also reignited debates about the court's role and the need for transparency in its decisions.
