The President of the Assembly of the Republic, Agostinho Aguiar-Branco, announced that he will reject the parliamentary inquiry commission requested by Chega about Luís Neves, unless the party modifies the submitted request.
Aguiar-Branco identified insufficiencies in the delimitation of the object and in the grounds of the parliamentary inquiry requested by Chega, considering that the document does not meet the necessary requirements to proceed.
The decision of the president of the parliament comes following a detailed analysis of the request submitted by the far-right party, which intended to create an inquiry commission to investigate issues related to Luís Neves.
If Chega does not make the changes required by the president of the assembly, the process of creating the inquiry commission will be blocked, preventing its constitution in the Portuguese parliament.
