Leon Black challenges subpoena to testify in Epstein inquiry and sues House panel

Billionaire Leon Black was scheduled to testify before the U.S. House Oversight Committee about his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender. The testimony was scheduled for the morning the news was published.

Black decided to challenge the subpoena issued by the House Oversight Committee. Instead of complying with the summons, the billionaire chose to sue the House panel responsible for the investigation.

The lawsuit filed by Leon Black questions the legality of the subpoena that would have required him to testify about his business dealings with Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein was convicted of sex crimes and died in prison in 2019.

This case is part of a broader congressional investigation into the connections between Epstein and prominent figures in U.S. financial and political circles.
