Fuel prices will suffer sharp increases at the beginning of next week in Portugal. According to estimates from the "Contas Poupança" website, associated with SIC Notícias, the price of diesel should rise 15 cents per liter starting Monday, settling at 2.169 euros per liter. The price of gasoline, on the other hand, should increase by 12 cents, reaching 2.142 euros per liter.
Compared to February of this year, diesel will be 51 cents more expensive per liter and gasoline 37.8 cents per liter. With these values, a 50-liter tank of diesel will cost approximately 108.45 euros and a 50-liter tank of gasoline will cost around 107 euros.
The week that ended was marked by a strong appreciation in the price of Brent crude oil, which serves as a reference for the European market. The cumulative rise was around 7%, an increase not seen since the last week of July.
Fuel price forecasts are based on calculations that take into account quotations in international markets and other factors that influence price fluctuations in Portugal, as highlighted by the "Contas Poupança" website.
