Rio de Janeiro officially gains another samba house starting this Saturday (5). The new space, called Quintal da Clementina, is located on the famous and bustling Rua do Senate, in the city center. The opening party will begin at 12 pm and continue until 2 am, featuring performances by the groups Choro na Rua, Banda Clementina and Galocantô. Tickets for the inauguration are available via Sympla starting at R$ 25.
The programming at Quintal da Clementina continues on Sunday (6), the eve of the holiday, with Pagode da Gigi, Fruta do Pé and Arlindinho. More information about the space can be found on Instagram (@quintaldaclementina).
The new samba house is a partnership of three professionals recognized in the Rio de Janeiro music scene: Lucio Pacheco, from Beco do Rato, Marcio Ferreira, from Samba Luzia, and Dinemar Mesquita. This combined experience of the three organizers promises to bring tradition and quality to the new venture.
The space, which previously functioned as a parking lot, spans 900 square meters and features both a large outdoor area and an indoor environment. The spacious structure can accommodate the expected audience for samba parties in the central region of Rio.
