Actor Ricardo Blat, 75 years old, is on air in the series "Emergência 53" and revealed that he filmed the project during chemotherapy treatment for leukemia. After the treatment, he underwent a bone marrow transplant.
Blat spoke about his recovery, describing it as positive and disciplined. He explained that the marrow was fully accepted by his body and that the exam results are great, but that his immunity is still similar to that of a newborn. Soon, he will take the vaccines and will feel more at ease, comparing the process to "starting from scratch".
The actor revealed that he received the marrow from a young woman he does not know, whom he called "angel". Blat said he is privileged to have gotten a 100% compatible marrow donation and emphasized the importance of always having blood, marrow, and organ donors.
