Dinho Ouro Preto, vocalist of Capital Inicial, one of the attractions at Rock in Rio 2026, suffered a serious accident during a band show on October 31, 2009, in Patos de Minas, Minas Gerais. While singing the song "What country is this?", the artist fell backward from a height of more than 3 meters as he crossed a walkway set up for the show.
According to accounts from Dinho himself in later interviews, he was near Yves Passarell, the guitarist of Capital Inicial, when he began walking backward on the walkway. The structure had stickers marking the stage's edge, but the singer did not notice them in time, which resulted in the fall during the performance.
After the accident, the musician was unconscious. A firefighter who came to his aid at the scene provided assistance to the artist, who faced the consequences of falling more than 3 meters. The incident became one of the most dangerous moments in the vocalist's career, who is known for his electrifying and energetic stage presence.
