Two men were arrested by the Lisbon Judicial Police on suspicion of having killed a 43-year-old man and injured his son. The crimes were allegedly committed as a form of revenge.
The victims were connected to a trial that was taking place in court. The dead man and the injured son were witnesses in the case of a friend of the suspects, who was being tried for shooting two people at Carcavelos beach, in Cascais.
The shots that led to the initial trial had occurred in the summer of the previous year. The court was examining that case when the two suspects decided to act against the witnesses.
The authorities managed to identify and arrest the two suspects, who allegedly acted with the objective of preventing or hindering the victims' testimony in the ongoing legal proceedings.
