The president of the Supreme Federal Court, Edson Fachin, responded to the request from Minister Alexandre de Moraes for an investigation against colleague André Mendonça. Fachin established a deadline of five business days for Alexandre de Moraes and André Mendonça to provide information they consider relevant to the case.
The president of the STF also granted the same five-day deadline to the Attorney General of Brazil, Paulo Gonet, and the Director-General of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, to respond about the crisis at the Court.
In this decision, Fachin recalled that the execution of procedures by the Federal Police regarding authorities with jurisdiction at the STF by virtue of their function must be done through the Superior Electoral Court, and that any evidence of institutional access to evaluate and validate documents refers to the person under investigation.
All four individuals mentioned must provide written information within this five-business-day deadline set by the president of the STF for the situation to be clarified.
