Rui Cristina gives 30 days for owners to proceed with works on building that "is a risk to everyone"

The mayor of Albufeira, Rui Cristina, announced a 30-day deadline for the owners of a large vacant building on Avenida da Liberdade to start intervention works on the property. The council considers the situation urgent and cannot be delayed.

The building in question is described as representing a risk to everyone, including the owners themselves, pedestrians, and neighboring residences. Prolonged lack of maintenance has contributed to the significant degradation of the structure.

Rui Cristina had previously warned about the need for intervention in this type of abandoned property in the city center, stating that the Municipal Council cannot continue to assume responsibilities that legally belong to the building owners.

If the owners do not comply with the established deadline, it is presumed that the Council may proceed with additional measures to ensure the safety of the building and the surrounding area.
