The Public Prosecutor's Office of Espírito Santo reported to the Courts the dentist and influencer Mariana Barros Laranja Roeder and her partner and nephew Nathan Laranja after three patients suffered serious complications, including infections, skin loss, necrosis, and permanent physical deformities following surgeries performed at Clínica Instituto Laranja in Vila Velha.
The report describes various conduct attributed to the dentist during the procedures, including the playing of electronic music, lack of appropriate sanitary clothing, and, most importantly, the interruption of invasive surgeries with open cuts on patients' faces for the recording of promotional videos intended for Instagram.
One of the patients reported that, during a mini facelift procedure, Mariana would interrupt the incisions to take photos and videos for her social media, keeping the patient with open cuts on her face while recording.
The case will now be analyzed by the courts in Espírito Santo, which will decide whether to accept or reject the report against the influencer dentist and her partner.
