Banker Daniel Vorcaro stated in testimony to the Federal Police that the Central Bank as a whole had a posture of agreement and encouragement for the merger of Banco Master with BRB, the Public Bank of Brasília. The revelation was made by columnist Andreza Matais of the Metrópoles portal, who obtained a video of the testimony.
Vorcaro declared that he was aware of the posture not only of the Central Bank director, Sérgio Neves de Souza, but also of the president of the institution, Gabriel Galípolo. According to him, there was at all times a posture of agreement and encouragement for the conclusion of the merger between the two financial institutions.
The banker stated that after making the merger request, all meetings he attended had the objective of organizing and solving points of the operation so that the proposal would be approved. The testimony was given last Friday, via videoconference, at the 19th Battalion of the Military Police.
