Woman arrested in Viana had cannabis plants at home

A 51-year-old woman was arrested in Viana do Castelo on suspicion of drug trafficking, in an operation carried out by the Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of the GNR. The investigation had been ongoing for about a month and included several police procedures that led to the execution of two search warrants, one at a residence and another at a vehicle. During the searches, seven cannabis plants were seized and the suspect was arrested in the act. The woman was made a defendant and the facts were reported to the Judicial Court of Viana do Castelo. The operation also had the support of soldiers from the Vila Praia de Âncora Territorial Post.
