GNR conducts searches in Cartaxo in operation with five arrests, weapons and more than 14,000 doses of drugs

GNR carried out a police operation on September 2 that resulted in the arrest of five men, aged between 25 and 75, in the municipalities of Sesimbra and Cartaxo. The investigation, conducted by the Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) of Setúbal, focused on crimes of possession of prohibited weapons, aggravated coercion and qualified theft.

During the operation, searches were carried out that allowed the seizure of weapons and more than 14,000 doses of drugs. The five arrested individuals were detained and will be brought before a court for their first hearing, where they will learn the applied precautionary measures.

The operation represented a significant blow against criminal networks operating in the region, combining property crimes with trafficking in weapons and drugs. Authorities continue to analyze the material collected during the searches to determine the possible involvement of the arrested individuals in other crimes.
