The Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj) approved, this Thursday (day 3), on second reading, a bill that determines that second degree diplomas and volunteer service provision may be scored in the title evaluation of state public competitions. Bill 4,773/2025 amends Law 2,646/1996, which provides for public competitions of tests and titles carried out by the direct, indirect, and foundational public administration.
The section added by the proposal allows that, when the title evaluation is applied, completion diplomas of graduation, second degree, specialization, master's, doctorate, and unpaid volunteer service by individuals to public entities of any nature or to private non-profit institutions may be scored.
If the law is sanctioned, it will take effect on the date of publication but will only produce effects 90 days later. The new rules will apply only to competitions whose notices are published after this vacancy period.
