A mother and her daughter got trapped inside a self-service laundromat on Rua do Resende, in downtown Rio, on Tuesday night (1st). Bárbara Cristina Pereira Tamanqueira and Stefany Tamanqueira da Silva had entered the establishment around 10:30 PM to wait for their laundry to finish.
While the two remained inside, the laundromat's services were interrupted and the establishment's door closed automatically. When they tried to leave, they realized they were trapped and couldn't open the door on their own.
Given the situation, the two called the Military Police for help. After being called, the establishment's manager was summoned to the location and managed to open the door so the customers could be released.
Bárbara stated that she felt sick after the episode and sought medical attention. She also filed a police report about the incident.
