42-year-old man detained for setting forest fire in Montalegre

A 42-year-old man was arrested by the Judicial Police on suspicion of having set a forest fire in Solveira, in the municipality of Montalegre. The fire occurred on August 18.

The investigation allowed to determine that the fire was started through the use of direct flame, probably a lighter. The man is strongly indicated for the authorship of a forest fire crime.

The fire consumed an area of approximately six thousand square meters of vegetation. The Judicial Police announced the arrest through a statement.
