The second edition of Rockalhau Fest takes place on September 10 and 11 at the Parque de Lazer de Gondifelos in Famalicão, with more than a dozen emerging bands from various rock genres, including stoner, psy, sludge, and thrash. Organized by the Associação Cultural de Gondifelos, the festival expects to grow from around 200 visitors in the first edition to 500 this year. Among the highlights are MadMess (Porto), Jesus the Snake (Vizela), and Capela Mortuária (Braga). The organization sees the event as a cultural driver to spark interest in rock among younger generations and includes free camping with support facilities. The festival revives the tradition of the former Festival do Este, held in the same location about two decades ago.
