The Municipality of Santa Marta de Penaguião has started the recovery works on municipal road CM1305, near Alvações do Corgo Station, with the aim of reinforcing safety and improving traffic conditions between Alvações do Corgo and São João de Lobrigos.
The road section was affected by the episodes of bad weather recorded at the beginning of this year, which caused the instability of support structures and resulted in the partial collapse of the road platform, leading to the temporary closure of the road.
Following the implementation of a provisional solution that allowed the return of traffic, the municipality has now proceeded with the definitive intervention, awarded for approximately 157 thousand euros, plus VAT.
The works include the removal of unstable structures, the construction of a new retaining wall, the installation of drainage systems and the reconstruction of the road platform, ensuring greater stability and safety on a route used daily by local residents.
