The Municipality of Angra do Heroísmo issued Notice No. 170/2025, informing the public that traffic will be restricted or suspended on several streets and areas in the town of São Sebastião. The restriction is scheduled for September 6, 2026, starting at 18:00.
The roads affected by the restriction include Rua da Igreja, Ladeira do Codorniz, Estrada Regional, Ponta da Ribeira Seca and Aldeia Nova, as well as the area near the Ribeira Seca Church. This measure aims to ensure safety during a religious event.
The reason for the traffic suspension is the holding of the Procissão de Nossa Senhora da Consolação (Procession of Our Lady of Consolation), a procession that will take place on that date and will pass through the streets indicated in the notice.
The notice is addressed to residents, drivers and all other users of the roads in question, warning of the need to comply with the imposed restrictions during the procession period.
